5 tips to lose weight after Christmas holidays

Christmas time is over… I believe you had a great time and enjoyed every second of it with your love ones and a lot of tasty food. However, it is time to move forward and kick off the new year in the best possible way. 

I prepared for you 5 simple tips how to get back into shape after Christmas. If you acquire them properly, I believe you will be able to lose some additional weight. Use your energy and strength to start the year 2018 in a best possible way! With healthy body, healthy mind and healthy spirit.

1. Get back to your meal plan

Christmas time is over and you should calm your appetite. I believe that all the sweets and tasty food of Christmas is already gone. If still not, try to minimize it as much as possible. Set back your meal plan. Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack and dinner. Watch the sizes of your portions and do not eat to satiety… Leave some space to be able to do some sport activity and burn your energy. And of course, drink a looooooot of water”

2. Set a new year resolution with your buddy

It’s best if you kick off your active new year with a buddy… Find one, set a straight goal and visit a fitness centre several times a week together. Why with a buddy? Why not alone? Because if one of you is lazy to go, the other one will remind you why you started in the first place and give you the energy to go. If there are two of you, you will definitely stick to your goal much longer. 

3. Set your goal

Setting your goal will give you motivation that you need. It’s a lot stronger than just decide to “lose a little weight” … Be more concrete! If your weight is 92kg and you wish to have 85kg, take a selfie in the mirror, print it out and write at the back your current weight and the weight you wish to have after some period of time. Lets say a month. Put this picture next to your bed so you see it every day. Nothing complicated… Now you have a straight goal and a deadline! And with that your motivation is much stronger. If you have your buddy share your goals together.

4. Tell your surrounding about your goal

The more you keep it a secret the harder it gets. Your friends and family will for sure start asking questions because those are the people that immediately notice if you are doing something different. Don’t be shy! If you tell more people about your goal you feel stronger responsibility to achieve it. You won’t be the only one to expect some visible results so your effort will be a lot stronger. And what more, your surrounding could get inspired by your actions and do the same. At the end, your decision can help others...

5. Take advice from experienced athletes

No one knows everything… Stop being stubborn. Your success is only few clicks away on the internet. Find some useful information from reliable blog posts, YouTube videos or talk to experienced personal trainer. Ask experienced athletes if you could improve something to get closer to your goal. It’s not a shame! Shame is putting a lot effort into something that is actually wrong… After some time, it could only make you frustrated that you can’t see any results.
